Young Ballerinas

Tiny Ballet

Ages 3-5*. In this introductory movement class, students will learn the basic positioning and techniques of the Russian Ballet style.

Ages 10+. This course is for new and continuing dancers who are excited to learn and improve their technique in Jazz! Two prior years of Jazz experience required or teacher recommendation.

Young Ballerinas

Elementary Ballet

FRIDAYS 1:30-2:45PM

This class will focus on the education and technique of the Russian Ballet style. Each period will include a ballet barre warm up as well as jumps and combinations across the floor. Dancers will be encouraged to grow at their individual level and as a team. Emphasis will be on improving coordination, grace and flexibility.

 

Two prior years of ballet is recommended.  

Annual exams include introduction to ballet terminology and basic body muscle groups.

Intermediate Ballet 1

TUESDAYS 10:15-11:15AM

FRIDAYS 12:15-1:15PM

Young Ballerinas

Ages 10+. This 2-day per week course is designed to challenge ballet students to grow at a more rapid pace and move beyond the basics. Focus will be on proper turnout and advanced barre exercises to improve balance, poise and flexibility. Students should expect to remain at their current level for 2-3 years before advancing to the next level.  

Annual exams include ballet terminology, muscle anatomy, basic human skeleton and the history of ballet.

2+ years of current ballet experience required. Students are also strongly encouraged to participate in PrePointe to strengthen and prepare them to begin wearing pointe shoes.

Ballet School

Int. 2 & Advanced Ballet Combined

Teacher Approval.

6+ years of prior dance experience required.

This advanced ballet class is for the serious dancer who wishes to continue in their dance education and improve their skills as a ballerina. Focus will be on improving technique, balance and strength through barre exercises and center floor work.

Int. & Adv. Lyrical Praise Combined

TUESDAYS 10:15-11:30

Teacher Approval. 

6+ years of prior dance experience required.

 

In this theatrical movement class, students will be challenged in both choreography and emotional expression. By using inspirational Christian music, dancers will bring the song to life through dance unto the glory of God.

Students must be dual-enrolled in a Petit Allegro ballet class.

Tap is an energetic form of dance that focuses on rhythm and musicality. This class develops the elements of tap dance vocabulary, dancer’s coordination, clarity and timing in a fun and challenging way. To excel in tap, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages balance, ankle strength and the core foundations of dance.

PrePointe/Pointe 1

TUESDAYS 9:30-10:15AM

In this course, students will use resistance bands, strength training, matwork and barre to prepare their bodies to begin en pointe. Parents and students will be provided with information about pointe shoes, fittings & sewing and well as a “Ready for Pointe” checklist and organized assessments. Students will be given annual pointe shoe assessments to receive feedback and track their progress. Beginner pointe students will continue taking this course throughout the school year.

Ballet Shoes

Pointe 2

TUESDAYS 1:00-1:45PM 

FRIDAYS: 11:30-12:15PM

Students must have completed a minimum of two years en pointe and/or have teacher recommendation for this course. Emphasis will be to challenge dancers to improve their core, balance and confidence on pointe as they work both on and off the barre and progress to advanced steps in center floor. Each student will need a pair of properly fitted and sewn pointe shoes throughout the year.
